If you’ve been following along on Instagram – you’ve seen the plans and progress for our hall bathroom. Given that the house only had one tub – we needed to add a second full bathroom so that we could update the main ensuite to eliminate the weird Jack & Jill toilet setup in the primary.
The Plan:
One of the bedrooms upstairs was large enough to be a second primary at 15.5ft x 14ft. As the primary bedroom is even larger than that here and this space was just going to be used as my office – we framed in a 5ft x 10ft bathroom to act as the new hall / guest bathroom. The layout was simple as the space allowed for a 32″ alcove tub, a toilet and a 54″ single vanity – given that I work in custom cabinetry – it made sourcing the vanity very easy.

The Inspiration:
I knew that I wanted to do a matte Zellige style vertical stacked tile for the tub walls. For the flooring – I wanted a light grey or beige tile that had veining rather than a cement look. For the vanity – I planned on doing a light wood in a slim shaker door. Fixtures were all to be Delta Champagne Bronze to add warmth to the space. If you read my last post – you’ll know about our unfortunate asbestos hit – so we opted to save costs by not doing a niche and by just doing a simple pressure balance tub shower set rather than anything custom with a separate handshower for this space.

The Materials & Fixtures:

Floor Tile: Planchers 1867 – Meraki Tile – Grey – 24″ x 24″ Porcelain | Wall Tile: Terratinta Group ( Italy ) / Sartoria – Tint Blanc – 2″ x 6″ – Matte | Cabinets: Decor Cabinet Company – V175 – Clear Alder – Uptown Stain
For the countertop – the jury is still out. I’m deciding between QuoraStone Calacatta Flux ( pictured ) or going for something simpler – Caesarstone – Fresh Concrete quartz. Stay tuned to find out what I pick!

Hi! I was wondering if the medicine cabinet/mirror in the bathroom is from West Elm? If it is did you do the Antique Brass or Champange Bronze? Thank you!!!
